Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council hosts Sayyiduna Siddiq-e-Akbar (RA) Conference
MQI founding-leader and patron-in-chief Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed the “Shan-e-Siddiq-e-Akbar (RA) Conference” held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council.
In his address on the occasion, he said that the verse no. 40th of Surah Tauba was revealed on the truthfulness and abiding sense of companionship of Sayyiduna Siddiq-e-Akbar (RA). He said that it is the Holy Quran that provided him such a privileged status. He referred to a prayer (Dua) of Sayyiduna Ali (RA) in which he beseeched Allah Almighty to keep him on the right path in the same way He kept the rightly-guided Caliphs.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Sayyiduna Siddiq-e-Akbar (RA) waged a struggle against those who refused to pay Zakat, and made false and misleading claims of prophethood and spread chaos and mischief in the land. “Through his struggle, the first Caliph of Islam provided intellectual clarity to the community,” he added.
MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur presented a welcome note in the conference and thanked the distinguished participants for sparing time to join the event. He said that MQI is an international organization working for the promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world. He said that the four-decade-long struggle of MQI is an evidence of its bridge-building role between different cultures, and faiths.
Syed Ziaullah Shah Bukhari said on the occasion that Sayyiduna Siddiq-e-Akbar (RA) was included among the close and trusted companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) who spent all of his wealth to spread the message of Islam.
Allama Mufti Muhammad Zubair Faheem said that the rightly guided Caliphs are not historical but the Quranic personalities. He said that Sayyiduna Siddiqu-e-Akbar (RA) is that personality who remained in service of Islam and the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from the time he embraced Islam till the last breath of his life.
Allama Shahzad Mujadadi said on the occasion that it is not easy to understand the personalities such as Sayyiduna Siddiq-e-Akbar’s (RA) from the accounts of the books. He said that one needed to understand them from the lens of heart and respect.
In addition to religious scholars and the people at large, those who attended the conference included Allama Dr Mir Asif Akbar, Mufti Ghulam Asghar, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Allama Ishtiaq Chishti, Pir Syed Aal-e-Ahmad, Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi and Allama Dr Noor-uz-Zaman Noori.
