Medina Pact laid the foundation of interfaith dialogue: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of MQI Supreme Council, delivered a lecture on "Constitution of Medina and Modern Constitutional Principles" at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University.
In his lecture, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri highlighted how the Constitution of Medina laid the foundation for interfaith dialogue and the promotion of tolerance. He emphasized that the concept of power distribution at the grassroots level was introduced through the Medina Charter.
“The Medina Charter was not just a treaty but also the first written constitution of the globe, which remains intact in its original form till today without any amendments,” he added.
The Chairman of the Supreme Council stated that it is Muslims who gave a political and economic system to the world. We should still study the Quran and Sunnah on scientific principles for the solution to every issue, he said.
He stated that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) provided protection to all minorities in society, ensuring governance without discrimination based on race, religion, language, color, or caste, and empowered women, ensuring their protection and rights.
Speaking on this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Amanat Ali Jilani thanked the Supreme Council Chairman Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri for delivering a lecture on such an important topic as the Constitution of Medina. He praised him for the meticulous research that he conducted on the subject.
Other prominent figures who attended the event included Dr. Suleman Bashir, Dr. Liaqat Zardari, Sahil Islam, Dr. Tania Laghari, Dr. Aniqa, Manzoor Ali Sial, and Deputy Secretary General Mazhar Mahmood Alvi.
Meanwhile, scholars and religious leaders from Larkana met with Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and praised the service of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. They expressed their appreciation for the role of Minhaj-ul-Quran International in promoting knowledge and peace in Pakistan and around the world.
