The founding-leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, extended his warmest felicitations to the Muslim Ummah on the commencement of Ramadan, saying that all believers should welcome the blessed month of Ramadan with spiritual zeal and enthusiasm.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed gratitude to Allah for once again bestowing upon Muslims the blessed hours of Ramadan in their lives. He emphasized that the best way to welcome Ramadan is by observing fasts, assisting the needy as much as possible, and taking care of one's family. He stated that this noble and sacred month instills a sense of unity and solidarity among all Muslims.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri remarked that Ramadan teaches self-accountability and reflection. Fasting, he said, is the best means for purification of the heart and soul, provided that all its requisites are fulfilled. He highlighted that aiding the oppressed and needy segments of society is one of the most important objectives of Ramadan. He said that the religion of Islam teaches embracing the grand ideals of helping others and exhibiting generosity.

“Ramadan is the best month to understand and practice the philosophy of faith, sacrifice, and benevolence,” he said.

The MQI leader urged everyone to prepare for the arrival of Ramadan and to strive to fill their laps with as many blessings and mercies as possible from this flowing river of mercy and blessings. He emphasized that Ramadan is a month of character-building and self-discipline.
