CWC reviews arrangements for Itikaf City 2024
A meeting of the Central Working Council of the Manhaj Al-Quran International was held at the Central Secretariat in Lahore on March 12, 2024. The meeting was chaired by MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur. The arrangements and preparations for Itifak City (spiritual retreat) organized under the supervision of MQI were reviewed in the meeting. MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, will address via video link. Chairman of the Supreme Council, Dr. Hasan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, and Sahibzada Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri will deliver speeches to the participants on a variety of subjects.
It was decided in the meeting that a 50% discount would be given to the participants of Itikaf City on the publications of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir Al-Qadri, Dr. Hasan Mohiuddin Qadri, and Professor Dr. Hussain Mohiuddin Qadri published by Manhaj Publications. Secretary Itikaf City Jawad Hamid briefed the Central Working Council on the arrangements for Itikaf, informing that the first phase of registration for Itikaf City 2024 has been completed. Thousands of men and women have registered to participate in the annual retreat. He said that the registration process will continue until the 18th of Ramadan.
It was mentioned that special arrangements have been made for thousands of male and female participants from all over the country. Vice president Minhaj Women League Sidra Karamat informed the CWC that Dr. Ghazala Qadri, President of MWL International, will deliver special speeches to the female participants. She said that thousands of women have already registered.
In the meeting of the Central Working Council, Deputy Secretary General Allama Rana Muhammad Idris informed that under the banner of Manhaj Ulama Council, and Manhaj Women's League, a series of sessions on Irfan ul Quran have been initiated in 115 cities across the country during the blessed hours of Ramadan. MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur expressed satisfaction regarding the preparations and arrangements for Itikaf City, stating that Ramadan is a month of self-accountability, reconciliation, and character building.
He urged the well-off individuals to arrange for Sehri and Iftar for the less privileged fasting individuals to fulfill their religious and humanitarian duty. He emphasized that brotherhood and sacrifice are the noblest acts and essence of worship. Khurram Nawaz Gandapur appealed to the merchant community to take only lawful profits, as there is blessing in halal earnings and disobedience to Allah and His Messenger in earning unlawful profits.
Brigadier (Rtd.) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Allama Rana Muhammad Idris, Noorullah Siddiqui, Jawad Hamid, Rana Waheed Shehzad, Sheikh Farhan Aziz, Sidra Karamat, Sohail Ahmed Raza, Hafiz Ghulam Fareed, Hafiz Waqar, Aftab Khan, Adil Zaheer, Nadeem Shafqat, Riazat Ali Chadhar, Abdul Sattar Minjian, Shahbaz Tahir, and Raza Tahir, along with other members of the Central Working Council, attended the meeting.
