Sufis illuminated the candles of compassion & humanity: Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that the teachings of Sufis are a reflection of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). The Sufis and saints, he said, have rendered great services for the promotion and propagation of Islam. The role of the noble Sufis in establishing peace and security is exemplary and worthy of emulation.
He said that all our Sufi saints are shining chapters in the history of Islam and the history of the Indian subcontinent. Today, there is a need to revive their teachings. The Sufis, he said, provided such a great lesson of peace, brotherhood, and love devoid of prejudice and bigotry in the face of those who sought to create division and spread hatred based on race, language, and beliefs that darkness was engulfed in its own darkness, and in their place, candles illuminated by compassion and humanity were lit, initiating the spreading of the light of truth in every household.
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these remarks while addressing the 61st annual Urs ceremony of Hazrat Pir Khwaja Sufi Karamat Hussain (may Allah have mercy on him) held at the esteemed shrine of Naqshbandiyya-Mujaddidiyya in Gojra. The ceremony was attended by a large number of people including Sajjada Nasheen (spiritual custodian) of the shrine, Hazrat Pir Khwaja Naveed Hussain, Hazrat Allama Pir Rafiq Ahmad Mujaddidi, Muhammad Khan Laghari, Pir Muhammad Umair, Pir Sufi Allah Dittah, Raja Zahid Mahmood Qadri, Allama Rana Muhammad Idris Qadri, Dr. Munir Hashmi, Imran Ali Advocate, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, and other leaders, workers, and the general public.
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Sufis, saints, and scholars are, in fact, the best examples of spreading the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). If Allah, the Lord of Majesty, had not sent them as followers of the Master of the Universe (peace be upon him), Islam would not have spread. He said that proximity to Allah is not determined by lineage but by sincerely adhering to the teachings of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) with heart and soul.
The MQI President said that it is scholars who have explained Islam and Sufis who have spread it. The presence of the righteous in every era is a great blessing from Allah. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "These saints and friends of Allah have hearts filled with faith and knowledge." Whenever one studies the lives of the righteous and Sufis, the journey of their lives appears as a perfect example of the noble character of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Sufism, the teachings of Sufism, and the path of Sufism are the traditions of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
Sajjada Nasheen of the shrine, Pir Khwaja Naveed Hussain, welcomed Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. The ceremony was attended by eminent scholars, dignitaries from various walks of life, leaders and workers of the Minhaj-ul-Quran International, and devotees and admirers of the shrine.
