Governor KP visits MQI Secretariat, pays tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam

Terms interfaith harmony inevitable for peace and prosperity: Governor KP

Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Faisal Karim Kundi, visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Aghosh Orphan Care Home, and Minhaj University Lahore yesterday. He met with the President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, and Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi expressed his admiration for the contributions of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj-ul-Quran in the fields of knowledge and peace, especially highlighting their commendable and exemplary services in education. He announced plans to organize a national conference on interfaith harmony in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa soon, stating that interfaith harmony is essential for peace and prosperity. He emphasized that without addressing inhumane values of intolerance, no goal of peace and development can be achieved. Barrister Amir Hasan was also present on this occasion.

Upon arriving at Minhaj University Lahore, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi was welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Registrar Dr. Khurram Shahzad, and other senior officials. The Governor toured the Electrical and Chemical Engineering departments, the Admissions Block, and the Shaykh-ul-Islam Sufism Center, and praised the university’s unique and purposeful academic environment.

Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presented a commemorative souvenir to Governor Kundi, along with the translated 'Irfan-ul-Quran' by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the renowned book "Dastur Madina aur Falahi Riyasat ka Tasawwur" by Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, and his latest books as gifts.

The Governor also conducted a detailed visit to the state-of-the-art Orphan Care Complex under Minhaj Welfare Foundation, and spent time with the resident orphaned children and took pictures with them. He expressed happiness over the facilities provided to the children, stating that similar institutions should be established in other provinces.

Colonel (R) Mubashir Iqbal, Director of Aghosh Complex, gave a comprehensive briefing on the education, training, care, and welfare of the orphaned children. He requested the Governor to appeal to the Government of Pakistan for special concessions on electricity and gas bills for institutions providing quality care and education to orphaned children, which would help improve their living standards. The Governor promised to discuss this matter with the relevant authorities.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also visited the building of the Tahfeez-ul-Quran Institute, where Principal Allama Muhammad Abbas Naqshbandi briefed him about educational facilities.
Upon his arrival at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, central leaders Raja Zahid Mahmood, Noorullah Siddiqui, Khurram Shahzad, and Aurangzeb Khan welcomed him and his entourage.

Accompanied by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the KP Governor toured the Minaret-ul-Islam secretariat, Gosha-e-Durood, Farid-e-Millat Research Institute, and Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam. He praised the management and operations of all departments of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
