Dr Qadri addressing Social Media Camp

MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, while addressing the central leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran, social media activists, and presidents and secretary generals of various forums via video link during a social media training workshop, said that modern means of communication should be used to promote the message of Islam. He said that cyber terrorism is a major challenge of today's era, adding that youth should receive training in using social media.

He said the violation of privacy and dignity through social media has taken a dangerous form. He said that presenting distorted facts on social media, misrepresenting someone’s stance, taking things out of context, mocking, and making derogatory edits in pictures or videos is unjust and sinful.

Those who use social media should not play with their faith and morals even in jest, he said.

In the social media workshop, Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Deputy Secretary General for Media Affairs Noorullah Siddiqui, Director of Training Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi, and Director of Minhaj Internet Bureau Abdul Sattar Minhajian discussed various aspects and techniques of social media.

Vice President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Brigadier (R) Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Deputy Secretary Generals Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Engineer Muhammad Rafiq Najm, and Jawad Hamid made special appearances.

During the social media workshop, Abdul Sattar Minhajian gave a lecture on utilizing artificial intelligence and other social tools for guidance.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, while expressing his views, said that those active on social media should never engage in immoral or unethical behavior. Social media, he said, is a double-edged sword; it can both enhance and damage your personality.

Noorullah Siddiqui, in his remarks, stated that sectarianism and religious biases have caused irreparable harm to national unity, and social media should be used to promote interfaith harmony. Allama Ghulam Murtaza Alvi mentioned that the Directorate of Training has prepared a curriculum for social media training and is ready to provide training at all levels.

In the training workshop, Vice-President of Minhaj Women League Sidra Karamat, Ayesha Mubashir, Umm Habiba Ismail, Farida Sajjad, Central President of Minhaj Youth League Rana Waheed Shehzad, Central President of Mustafavi Students Movement Sheikh Farhan Aziz, IT Manager Sanaullah, and Muhammad Sadiq participated in the question-and-answer session.
