Degrees conferred to 1,741 Students at Minhaj University Lahore Convocation

71 Gold Medals, 134 Roll of Honor Awards, and 77 Merit Certificates Presented
Minhaj University Lahore (MUL) organized its convocation to confer degrees and accolades to 1,741 graduates of PhD, MS, MPhil, BS, and ADP programs. A total of 71 students received gold medals, 134 were awarded Roll of Honor certificates, and 77 were given merit certificates.
The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, congratulated the students and remarked that today’s youth are the leaders of tomorrow. He emphasized that universities should not only be centers of learning but also hubs of character-building, ensuring a brighter future for the nation. He encouraged students to reflect on their role in lifting the country out of its challenges, stating that degrees are not merely a means to employment but tools for nation-building. He also highlighted that a teacher holds the same stature as parents and should aim to guide students with the same care and dedication.
The event was graced by Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and a member of the Board of Governors. Other notable speakers included Deputy Chairman Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sajid Mehmood Shahzad, Speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Additional Secretary Federal Education Hasan Saqlain, and Registrar Dr. Khurram Shahzad.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri urged graduates to value time and embrace hard work in their professional lives. He cautioned against negativity, highlighting its detrimental effects on one’s abilities, relationships, and personality. He stressed that intelligent individuals contribute significantly to the development of their families and society.
Chaudhry Latif Akbar, the Speaker of the AJK Assembly and the guest of honor on the occasion, emphasized that while wealth can buy many things, character, trust, respect, love, and dignity cannot be purchased. He urged students to prioritize character and honor over material wealth, as even the uneducated can earn money. He praised Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri’s remarkable contributions to knowledge and leadership, commending his efforts in transferring his vision to his capable sons, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri.
In his opening remarks, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sajid Mehmood Shahzad congratulated the graduates, stating that while one journey has ended, another has just begun. He highlighted Minhaj University Lahore’s commitment to quality education, inspired by the visionary leadership of Chairman Prof. Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri. The university’s 700 highly qualified faculty members are dedicated to providing top-tier education, with over 25,000 graduates serving in various fields across the globe, he said.
The convocation was attended by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur (Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran), Dr. Muhammad Shahid Saroya (Director General, Pakistan Institute of Education), Brigadier (R) Muhammad Iqbal, Qaiser Rafiq (CEO, Discover Pakistan Channel), deans, faculty members, and proud parents of the degree holders.
