Shab-e-Barat Celebrated at Minhaj-ul-Quran Denmark with Keynote Speech by Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri

Copenhagen, Denmark – Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark hosted an extraordinary gathering to commemorate the spiritually significant night of Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Forgiveness. The event, attended by over 500 participants, featured an inspiring keynote speech by Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, Chairman Supreme Council, Minhaj-ul-Quran International. This gathering offered a meaningful opportunity for attendees to engage in self-purification, repentance, and spiritual growth.

The event opened with a heartfelt recitation of the Quran by Qari Nadeem Akhtar, setting a reflective tone for the evening. Bilal Uppal, President of MEC, and Babar Shafi Sheikh, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sweden, were among the esteemed guests who graced the occasion, along with key Danish dignitaries: Qaisar Zubair Najeeb, President MQI Denmark; Shahnawaz Uppal, General Secretary MQI Denmark; Dr. Urfan Zahoor Ahmed, Chairman House of Representatives MQI Denmark; Hafiz Sajjad Ahmed, Senior Vice President MQI Denmark; Rizwan Ahmad Chaudhry, Vice President MQI Denmark; and Ali Imran, Vice President MQI Denmark.

In his welcoming address, Qaisar Zubair Najeeb highlighted the establishment of the Shaykh-ul-Islam Spiritual Center, affiliated with the Shaykh-ul-Islam Institute of Spiritual Sciences at Minhaj University Lahore. He emphasized that this center will play a pivotal role in educating youth about Sufism, spirituality, and Zikr, nurturing the next generation with a robust spiritual foundation.

A special guest from the UK, Shahid Mursaleen, added to the program’s prestige.

Recognition was given to rufaqaa who significantly contributed to the development of the spiritual center. Nazam Hussain, Asad Nazir, Ali Hasnain, and Mustanser Hussain received awards for their dedication and efforts in bringing this vision to life.

Key Messages from Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri on the Night of Forgiveness

During his keynote address, Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri beautifully conveyed the essence of Shab-e-Barat. He urged attendees to use this sacred night as a time for sincere repentance, seeking Allah’s mercy, and engaging in deep introspection. Quoting from Surah Al-Ma’idah (5:83), he emphasized the importance of purifying the heart and soul to attain closeness to Allah. He elaborated on the transformative power of Zikr (remembrance of Allah), which cleanses the heart and establishes a deeper connection with the divine.

He explained that tears shed in the fear and love of Allah are beloved to the Almighty and serve as a testament to spiritual sincerity. Drawing upon Quranic verses and Prophetic traditions, Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri shared how the shedding of tears signifies the attainment of Marifat (spiritual insight), a stage where the truth of Allah becomes apparent and overwhelming.

Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri also unveiled the vision for the Shaykh-ul-Islam Spiritual Center and its affiliated spiritual sciences program. He lauded the collective efforts behind the center’s establishment, stating that the physical structure now carries a spiritual essence that will guide individuals toward enlightenment and self-awareness.

The event also featured an electrifying dhikr mehfil, where participants engaged in the remembrance of Allah with heartfelt devotion.
