MWF hosts mass wedding ceremony
15 couples tied the knot, each bride received household gifts worth 500,000 PKR
Traditional bands and flower petals welcomed the wedding processions, attended by 2,000 guests

Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) organized a grand mass wedding ceremony in Gujrat for 15 underprivileged and deserving brides. Over 2,000 guests were invited to the event.
The ceremony began with a welcome address by MWF Director of Operations, Engineer Sanaullah Khan, who expressed gratitude to the attendees and provided a detailed overview of the Foundation’s objectives and its various welfare projects across the country. He highlighted that MWF organizes annual mass weddings to ensure the dignified matrimony of underprivileged daughters.
The chief guest, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran, congratulated the 15 newlywed couples and stated that helping those in need is a great virtue in today’s world. He emphasized that Minhaj-ul-Quran’s efforts are dedicated to humanitarian service. He said that under the leadership of Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, Minhaj Welfare Foundation has consistently taken practical steps to support the underprivileged, making a real difference in their lives.
Former Federal Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira praised Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s efforts in religion, education, and humanitarian services and stated that alleviating the financial burden of poor families through mass weddings is a significant act of service to humanity.
Former Punjab Education Minister Mian Imran Masood commended Minhaj Welfare Foundation for its exemplary arrangements, expressing his long-standing familiarity with Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj-ul-Quran.
Former Member of the Provincial Assembly Khadija Farooqi shared that attending the event brought her immense inner peace, as helping others is the essence of true virtue and faith.
Following the Nikah sermon, a special prayer was offered for the newlyweds as they embarked on their journey together. After the wedding feast, the grooms and brides were seated separately and were presented with copies of Irfan-ul-Quran and cash gifts on behalf of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
The Nikah ceremony for the 15 couples was conducted by scholars from Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulema Council. Each bride was gifted essential household items worth 500,000 PKR, and over 1,500 wedding guests were served meals.
The wedding processions began arriving at 9:00 AM and continued until 2:00 PM. Senior leaders from Minhaj Welfare Foundation, Minhaj-ul-Quran, and Pakistan Awami Tehreek—including MWF Deputy Director Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, Senior Vice President MWF Europe Sarmad Javed, Chaudhry Muhammad Akram, Syed Farukh Hussain, Chaudhry Muhammad Islam, Sheikh Muhammad Waqar, and Shahid Rizwan—welcomed the grooms with flower petals.
The brides were received warmly by the women leaders of Minhaj Welfare Foundation and Minhaj Women League. Special gifts were presented to the newlyweds, and each groom’s procession was welcomed with traditional band music.
