Celebration of Shaykh-ul-Islam Day on Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s 74th Birthday

The 74th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the workers, members and associates of MQI across the world.

The occasion was marked by cake-cutting ceremonies, seminars, and tributes to Shaykh-ul-Islam’s contributions in promoting education, fostering unity within the Muslim Ummah, and advocating inter-sectarian and interfaith harmony.

The main ceremony was held at Minhaj-ul-Quran International Secretariat in Lahore, where prominent leaders, including Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Brigadier (R) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, Brigadier (R) Umar Hayat, GM Malik, Noorullah Siddiqui, Engineer Rafiq Najam, Jawad Hamid, Shehzad Rasool, and Professor Zulfiqar Ali, along with a large number of workers, participated. Special prayers were offered for the health and long life of Shaykh-ul-Islam, as well as for the peace and prosperity of the country.

Various institutions under Minhaj-ul-Quran International also organized special events in connection with the Quaid Day celebrations. At Aghosh Orphan Care Home, children celebrated the birthday of their beloved leader by reciting the Holy Quran and Na’ats, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony. The event was attended by President of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Colonel (R) Mubashir Iqbal, Sarmad Javed, Ali Imran, Abbas Naqshbandi, Zafar Arshad, Altaf Hussain Randhawa, Naveed Butt, and Muazzam Mustafavi, among others.

At the College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences, students and teachers paid tribute to Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri's scholarly contributions and highlighted the significance of his teachings.

A special session was also held at the Farid-e-Millat Research Institute, where Shaykh-ul-Islam's research and academic contributions were acknowledged and appreciated. Similarly, Mustafavi Students Movement, Minhaj Youth League, Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League, and the Ulema Council organized events to commemorate the occasion.

On an international level, the birthday celebrations were held with great fervor. Special prayer ceremonies were organized at Minhaj-ul-Quran centers in the UK, Europe, the USA, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Various European countries witnessed special sittings at Minhaj-ul-Quran centers, where Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s scholarly and intellectual services were praised. In New York, Chicago, Houston, Australia, and Japan, followers held special prayer gatherings, while in Hong Kong and Malaysia, cake-cutting ceremonies were conducted, and prayers were offered for the leader’s well-being.

The MQI leaders emphasized that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri’s academic, research, and reformative efforts serve as a milestone in the unity of the Muslim Ummah and in the intellectual and spiritual upbringing of the younger generation.
