Na’at competition and English speech contest held during COSIS week of celebrations
As part of the ongoing Week of Celebrations commemorating the 74th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the College of Shariah & Islamic Sciences (COSIS), Lahore, under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj, hosted a Na’at recitation competition and an English speech contest on the second day of events.
Students from various universities and religious seminaries across the country actively participated in the competitions.
In the Na’at competition, the winners were:
🏆 1st Place – Ali Akbar 🥈 2nd Place – Syeda Areej Zahra 🥉 3rd Place – Syed Ali Raza
In the English speech contest, the winners were:
🏆 1st Place – Hijab Majid 🥈 2nd Place – Zunaira Batool 🥉 3rd Place – Rizwan Ahmed Cheema
The speech competition revolved around the theme "Artificial Intelligence and the Changing World." Participants discussed the positive and negative aspects of modern technology.
Colonel (R) Asad Mahmood Khan emphasized that AI is a supportive tool for humans, but decision-making authority must always remain with humans. Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz highlighted Minhaj University’s contributions to education and noted that HEC has ranked it among the top 10 universities in Pakistan.
Addressing the ceremony, Faisal Zaman Chishti congratulated the college administration and organizers on the successful execution of the intercollegiate competitions. He stated that such programs play a vital role in the intellectual growth of youth and the promotion of extracurricular activities.
At the end of the event, Principal Dr. Mumtaz-ul-Hasan Barvi, Vice Principal Abdul Ghaffar, and esteemed guests distributed certificates among the winning students. President of Bazm-e-Minhaj, Muhammad Faiz-ul-Mustafa, welcomed the guests in his opening remarks. Other notable attendees included General Secretary Abdul Moeez, Vice President Hamid Mustafa Abbasi, and other office bearers.
The jury members – Hafiz Muhammad Arshad Naqshbandi, Hafiz Yasir Ali Golravi, and Professor Dr. Sarwar Siddiq – appreciated the students’ talents and encouraged them to continue their hard work.
