Shaykh-ul-Islam congratulates Muslim Ummah on the arrival of Ramadan
Founder and chief patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, in his message on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan, said that Ramadan is a month of mercy, forgiveness, and atonement.
He congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the arrival of Ramadan. He described Ramadan as a collection of divine blessings and rewards, a month of goodness in faith and earning for the Hereafter. During this month, the gates of Hell are closed, the gates of Heaven are opened, and Satan is chained.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) described Ramadan as a month of patience, self-control, and sacrifice. Self-restraint and compassion are deeply connected to the spirit of Ramadan, he said while explaining the spirit of the month.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said that this sacred month is a time for mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance from Hell, providing spiritual growth through training in piety, patience, gratitude, and spiritual development. He prayed that Allah grants us the ability to gather as many blessings as possible from this blessed month and makes us worthy of honoring and respecting it.
Shaykh-ul-Islam further stated that Ramadan teaches us to bear hunger and thirst, making us feel the pain and suffering of others while cultivating piety in our hearts.
"Fasting is not just a physical hardship; it is a spiritual discipline that teaches us patience, gratitude, and respect for others' rights," he added.
Dr Qadri emphasized that this month is the best opportunity to draw closer to Allah, urging everyone to adopt the blessed practices of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), engage in Quranic recitation, worship, remembrance of Allah, and charity, making Ramadan a means for their forgiveness and salvation.
Shaykh-ul-Islam also urged all Muslims to purify their hearts and minds during this blessed month, refine their character, and seek repentance and forgiveness from Allah.
He said that the moments of Ramadan are extremely precious, and we should not waste them in negligence but instead strive to please Allah through increased worship and good deeds. He expressed his gratitude to Allah for blessing us with another opportunity to experience the blessed days of Ramadan in our lives.
