Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees Qadri addressing Jummah gathering

Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Deputy Secretary-General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, stated that the sacred month of Ramadan is the best opportunity to excel in good deeds. He said that giving charity and alms not only earns the pleasure of Allah but also promotes compassion and brotherhood in society. The Holy Prophet (PBUH), he said, was the most generous during Ramadan; therefore, we should also follow this blessed Sunnah and generously help those in need.

Allama Rana Idrees said that the "spring season of good deeds," Ramadan, is the most sacred month of the Islamic year, during which Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and blessings reach their peak. In this month, the rewards for good deeds multiply manifold, and Allah bestows special mercy on every righteous act.

Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees made these remarks while addressing the Friday congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam. He emphasized the need to ensure support for the needy through Zakat, charity, Fitrana, and other relief activities so that no fasting person remains hungry.

Allama Idrees said that Islam considers charity and almsgiving an important act of worship and a social responsibility. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, "Charity wipes away sins just as water extinguishes fire." He further explained that giving charity not only guarantees reward in the Hereafter but also helps individuals overcome difficulties in this world. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Charity removes calamities and brings blessings in life."

He said that during Ramadan, Allah’s doors of mercy are wide open, making it the best time to give charity and seek relief from hardships and trials. He also stressed that Zakat is a mandatory act of worship, while Fitrana is an obligation upon every financially capable Muslim to ensure that the poor and needy can also partake in Eid celebrations.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "When a person dies, all his deeds come to an end except for three things: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for him." Hence, engaging in long-lasting charitable deeds during Ramadan is among the best acts of righteousness.

Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees urged people to maximize their charitable giving in Ramadan to reap its blessings. This virtue will not only bring us closer to Allah but also bring prosperity in wealth, ease in life, and success in the Hereafter.
