Lahore (March 21, 2025): Thousands of devotees from across Pakistan and around the world have gathered to observe itikaf at the Itikaf City (Spiritual Retreat City), organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI). This annual spiritual gathering has commenced with meticulous arrangements for both men and women participants.

Men are observing itikaf at Jami al-Minhaj in Township Lahore, while separate and dedicated arrangements have been made for women at Minhaj College for Women. The Chairman of MQI’s Supreme Council, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; President of MQI, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; Secretary-General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur; along with other senior leaders, warmly welcomed the attendees upon their arrival.

Comprehensive facilities have been arranged to accommodate the thousands of participants, including well-organized provisions for suhoor and iftar. Over 600 volunteers are actively engaged in serving and managing the arrangements to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for all.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver a series of thought-provoking lectures every night after taraweeh prayers. This year’s theme centres on “Divine Love and the Sweetness of Tawheed”, inspiring spiritual reflection among the attendees.

The Itikaf City has been systematically divided into multiple blocks to manage the large congregation efficiently. To enhance comfort, giant industrial fans have been installed on both sides of the mosque courtyard at Jami al-Minhaj. Additionally, a centralized control room has been established to coordinate the efforts of the various administrative committees.

Mutakifeen will remain in spiritual seclusion and devotion until the sighting of the Eid moon, fully immersed in prayers and remembrance.

Participants have come from cities across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Quetta, Muzaffarabad, and Sukkur, as well as regions such as Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. International participants from various countries are also part of this spiritual congregation.

Round-the-clock medical services are available to ensure the health and well-being of all participants throughout the ten-day retreat.
