Thousands of worshippers make emotional supplications on Laylatul Qadr

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, addressed the grand spiritual gathering on the occasion of Laylatul Qadr in Shahr-e-I'tikaf. He highlighted that despite having immense resources, the Muslim world remains troubled and distressed. The primary reason for this downfall, he explained, is the detachment from the Qur’an and the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri emphasized that if one truly desires to please Allah, they must refrain from oppressing the weak and instead extend their support to them. Justice must be delivered to the oppressed. He further stated that while Allah may forgive shortcomings in fulfilling Huqooq-ullah (rights of Allah), there is no forgiveness when it comes to Huqooq-ul-Ibad (rights of fellow human beings).

A large number of men and women, along with thousands of worshippers in Shahr-e-I'tikaf, participated in this global spiritual gathering and attentively listened to Shaykh-ul-Islam’s speech. On this blessed night of Laylatul Qadr, the worshippers made heartfelt and emotional supplications for the development, security, and prosperity of Pakistan and world peace.

In his address, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri reiterated that the root cause of the Ummah’s decline is its detachment from the Qur’an. He assured that the day the Ummah reconnects with the Qur’an, its downfall will transform into progress and success. He described the Qur’an as the ultimate constitution and code for life, containing guidance for all human beings until the Day of Judgment. The Qur’an, he said, provides principles for economics, society, politics, faith, worship, and human rights, covering every aspect of human life.

Speaking on the virtues of Laylatul Qadr, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri highlighted that this is also the night of the completion of the Qur’an’s revelation and that the Qur’an holds the cure for all ailments afflicting the Ummah. Allah has declared that worship performed on this single night is better than worship spanning a thousand months, equivalent to 83 years and 4 months—which exceeds the average lifespan of a human being.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri warned that those who remain deprived of the blessings of this sacred night are the most unfortunate and ill-fated individuals. He quoted a narration from Hazrat Anas (RA) in which the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) stated that on Laylatul Qadr, Jibreel (AS) descends to earth with a multitude of angels, seeking forgiveness for every individual engaged in worship, whether standing or sitting.

He further elaborated on the concept of divine forgiveness, stating that true repentance requires remorse over past sins and a firm commitment never to return to a life of disobedience and transgression.
