Shaykh-ul-Islam expresses condolences on the passing of Dr. Shahid Mahmood’s brother
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Mian Khalid Mahmood, brother of Dr. Shahid Mahmood, former Central Director of Minhaj Welfare Foundation and former Nazim of Union Council 42 Lahore. Mian Khalid Mahmood, who was residing in the United States, passed away recently.
In his condolence message, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri prayed for the forgiveness and elevation of the deceased’s ranks and for patience and strength for the bereaved family.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Noorullah Siddiqi, Engineer Rafiq Najam, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, G.M. Malik, Prof. Zulfiqar Ali, Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry, and other senior leaders also extended condolences. They prayed for the deceased’s forgiveness and patience for his family.
Meanwhile, a Quran recitation gathering (Esal-e-Sawab) for Mian Khalid Mahmood (late) was held at Jamia Masjid Bilal, Bilal Colony, Daroghawala, Lahore. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Na’at (praise of the Holy Prophet ﷺ).
During the gathering, religious scholars prayed for Mian Khalid Mahmood’s forgiveness, elevation in ranks, and a place in Jannat-ul-Firdous. The gathering was attended by the deceased’s family members and close relatives.
Senior leaders and workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran, including Shahid Latif Qadri, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Amjad Chaudhry, Hafeezullah Javed, Dr. Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Saqib Bhatti, Ahmad Sadiq, and Sheikh Atiq-ur-Rehman, participated in large numbers to pay tribute and offer prayers.
