Dr Hussain Mohi Ud Din Qadri Addresses Zikr E Imam Hussain Conference In Melbourne Australia 2026

President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, addressed the historic “Zikr-e-Imam Husayn (AS) Conference” in Australia and stated that steadfastness upon truth is the essence of the philosophy of Imam Husayn’s martyrdom.

He said, “By bowing one’s head, worldly crowns may be attained, but by raising one’s head for the truth, that head is adorned upon the gallows.” He added that Imam Husayn (AS), through the sacrifice of his life and wealth, not only demonstrated in practice the noble training imparted by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and revived his blessed teachings and traditions, but also restored dignity and honor to the fading values of Islam. By rejecting the illegitimate rule of Yazid, Imam Husayn (AS) elevated humanity and the true faith for all generations until the Day of Judgment. Today, he noted, the followers of the Prophet’s grandson are remembered with reverence and honor, while the supporters of Yazid are remembered with disdain.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Qadri emphasized that love for the Ahl al-Bayt (the Family of the Prophet) is not merely a matter of personal preference but a matter of faith. He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) taught humanity for all times that as long as people remain attached to the Qur’an and his blessed household, they will never go astray.

He also advised young people not to be influenced by the narratives of certain social media preachers and YouTubers that create doubt or diminish love and devotion for the Ahl al-Bayt. He observed that the Muslim world today faces many trials, including attempts to weaken attachment to the Prophet’s family. Countering such misguidance, he stressed, is a collective responsibility. He urged the audience to study the lives and teachings of Imam Hasan (AS) and Imam Husayn (AS) with dedication and sincerity.

Dr. Qadri further stated that those who wish to understand the background and significance of the tragedy of Karbala through authentic references from the Qur’an and Sunnah should study the scholarly works authored by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the subject.

On the occasion, Syed Zubaib Masood Shah Bukhari, Zaheer Alvi, Allama Javed Malik, Syed Waqar Shah, Dr. Shahbaz Chaudhry, Dr. Majeed Gondal, Dr. Zuhoor Ahmad, Dr. Saeed Anwar, Rana Shahid, and Mukhtar Ahmad Khan paid rich tribute to Imam Husayn (AS) and his eternal sacrifice.

Among those attending the conference were Mohsin Shafiq, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Victoria; Farukh Hussain, Director; Syed Shah Rafi-ud-Din Qadri, General Secretary; Mian Muhammad Waseeq, General Secretary of MAPC; and a number of other distinguished community leaders and personalities.
