Orientalists want to debunk Islamic civilization: Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that boundaries of Islamic State had reached Europe, Africa and Asia till the end of first hegira. Islamic culture was ruling the roost and the holy companions of multi-faceted qualities had gone to every nook and corner of the world as philosophers, scientists, scholars, and military commanders. The whole world quenched its thirst from these fountains of knowledge. But branding of this age of excellence as Dark Ages by the orientalists constitutes anti-Islam bias.

He expressed these views while addressing the students of Minhaj University the other day. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the holy companions had come to Balochistan and Sindh in 15th and 16th hegira and military cantonments of Muslims had been established in Spain in the Ottoman age. Therefore it was wrongly recorded in the text books that Islam reached in Sindh and Sapin in 93rd & 94th hegira with the arrivals of Muhammad Bin Qasim and Tariq Bin Zayad. They established Islamic states in Sindh and Spain respectively. The fact is that Islamic culture and civilization had reached these areas 80 years prior to their arrival through holy companions.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that rejection of Islamic accomplishments and achievements was the basic target of the non-Muslim orientalists. They debunk the true face of Islam and present it as fact before the world. He said it was regrettable that many people, taking a leaf from the book of these orientalists, were spreading the same thoughts and message on TVs. These so-called Muslims scholars were doing so due to lack of sufficient knowledge and having been enamored of them.

He said it was the mission of the orientalists that they presented the Islamic achievements in lop-sided and disfigured forms so that Islam could not be known as religion of peace, harmony and enlightenment. Non-Muslim scholars go to the extent of saying that Islamic law and Philosophy were borrowed from Greece, whereas Islamic mysticism from Hinduism and Christianity. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that anti-Islam conspiracies could only be countered with knowledge, pious action and research. He urged the students to be aware of their responsibilities and work hard to equip themselves with knowledge and character.
