Minhaj Welfare Foundation’s Relief Activities for IDPs
Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) has set up two tent settlements for the internally displaced people of Swat and Malakand Division. One settlement is located at Noshahra Road (Mardan), while the second one has been established in Jalala. Furthermore, 15 Minhaj residential units have also been established in Mardan. In the same way, 35 Minhaj Residential Units have been set up in Noshahra. The number of families and people who are benefiting from Minhaj tent settlements and Minhaj residential units has exceeded 176 and 1090 respectively. These people are staying in the tent settlements and residential units where pedestal fans, room coolers, water coolers, shoes, clothes, biscuits, juices, milk packs are being provided regularly.
Effort has been made to turn these tent settlements into model settlements where unlike the tent settlements under other NGOs, people are served food respectably three times a day along with tea two times a day. The facility of separate kitchen has also been provided. Three water pumps have been installed in order to take care of water need, whereas modern toilets have also been made. |
Another important feature of Minhaj tent settlements is the establishment of Minhaj Tent School where uniforms, note books and books have been provided to the children by the Minhaj Welfare Foundation.
Minhaj Welfare Foundation has also set up Minhaj Welfare Hospital in order to provide medical facilities to the people living in the camps and tent settlements. Minhaj Free Dispensary has also been established in every Minhaj residential unit and tent settlement where a 15-member team of doctors and para-medical staff under the leadership of Dr S.M. Zameer would organize Minhaj medical camps in these camps. A homeopathic clink has been established and Minhaj ambulance service has also been provided to the affectees.
It should be kept in mind that Minhaj Welfare Foundation has undertaken these massive relief operations under the directions and instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The Foundation has vowed to keep up these activities unless our migrant brethren go back to their homes once peace returns to their blighted areas.
