The largest Itikaf gathering after the one held at Two Holy Mosques continues with traditional fervor in Township Lahore under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI). In addition to daily special lectures of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, an educational intellectual sitting is held every day on various jurisprudential and religious issues for the participants of Itikaf City in which Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi replies to the questions of the people in a very lucid and easy-to-understand manner. A special curriculum has also been designed for this sitting.
A delegation of senior lawyers led by Lehrasib Gondal Advocate visited Itikaf City and called on Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri. Talking to the lawyers, he said that the courts and lawyers have a key role to play in the provision of justice. He asked the legal fraternity to not back away from the mission of providing legal aid to the poor and the oppressed. He said that Allah Almighty likes just rulers and those who dispense justice fairly and honestly.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the help of the orphan, the poor and the oppressed is the best form of worship. He said that political, social, economic and welfare teachings of Islam are for the betterment of society and citizens. He said that the system of Zakat and donations is a beautiful reflection of Islam's welfare model.
'Iman' more than one's life is in a serious danger in this day and age of mischief. Satan is an open and declared enemy of faith. If one's faith is lost, everything else is lost. We deploy security guards for the protection of our worldly possessions. Did we ever care for the protection of our faith? Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri made these thought-provoking remarks while addressing thousands of the residents of Itikaf City on the third day of Itikaf 2022.
President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri addressed a second session of "journeyers of spiritualism". In his talk on the occasion, he said that we have to come back to our Lord in Itikaf City. We have to make pledges with Him that we will not let Satan lead us astray and sow the seeds of confusion and doubts in our hearts. We have to vow to stay the course after finding direction, for we have deviated from the straight path under the worldly glare.

Addressing thousands of the faithful at Itikaf City on the second day, MQI founding-leader and patron-in-chief Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Mutakifeen should focus on their internal purification more than their outer appearance. The people see what is visible to them whereas Allah Almighty sees the inside of our being. He said that we make conscious efforts to beautify ourselves for the world, stating what we should in fact be paying serious attention to is the internal beauty, reform and purification of the heart.
Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that the effort to revive the weakening relationship with our Lord is Itikaf. He said that people renounce their worldly engagements during Itikaf and dedicate themselves wholly to win Allah’s pleasure during the last ten days of Ramadan.
The city of repentance, rectification of deeds, purification of soul, understanding of Deen, known by the name of Itikaf City, has been established with thousands of the faithful participating. The vast building attached with Minhaj College for Women has been allocated for female Mutakifeen where thousands of women are enjoying the spiritual environment.

Addressing Itikaf City in connection with the martyrdom day of Sayyiduna Ali al-Murtada (Alayhis-salam), Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the fourth rightly guided Caliph advised Hazrat Imam Hassan (Alayhis-salam), "O, my son, you have not been born for the world but for the hereafter. Stand firm on the commandments of Allah and never ignore the reality of death."

Together with MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other leaders, Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri visited the Itikaf City in Baghdad town and inspected the arrangements for Itikaf 2022. He directed the secretary administrative committee to take every possible care of the residents so that they can spend their time most productively in worship and prayer. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Itikaf is a sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and has unlimited rewards.
Itikaf City, the annual mega event that is held during the last ten days of Ramazan every year under the banner of MQI, has been set up. Thousands of people from across Pakistan and abroad will join the City. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver his special lectures on the subject of "Taharat al-Qulub" (Purification of the heart) through video link.

MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver his online lectures during the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan. He said that the heart-warming and soul-stirring speeches of Shaykh-ul-Islam are the source of spiritual development, particularly for the youth. He said that the decision has been taken not to hold Itikaf this year in view of the ongoing Corona pandemic in the country.
