Muslim Youth League UK from Nelson hosted an evening with Fazeelat As-Shaykh Muhammad Saeed As-Sagharji , As-Shaykh Abdur Rahman al-Hamaami and Sayyid Muadh An-Nass on Wednesday 27th August, 2008 in Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Qur’an, Nelson, UK. Brothers and sisters from the entire region of Pendle, Burnley, Colne and Nelson attended the programme with some guests from Oldham and Manchester.
A grand Meraj un Nabi and Message of Peace Conference was held under the aegis of the son of Huzoor Shaykh-ul-Islam, Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Secretary General of Minhaj ul Quran International, Dr. Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi. The event was attended by various MQI leaders from Europe, along with prominent leaders of other religious, political, and social organisations in Denmark.

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri visits Oslo
The son of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, and the Secretary General MQI, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi were given a red-carpet welcome upon their arrival in Barcelona on July 31, 2008. Later on, the Barcelona chapter of Minhaj-ul-Quran International hosted a dinner in the honour of the visiting guests and other leaders of Europe in the renowned Pakistani restaurant.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International celebrates Independence
As the whole nation is planning to celebrate Pakistan's 61st anniversary of Independency with vigor and enthusiasm, Minhaj-ul-Quran International has also made special arrangements to mark the independence in Karachi, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Jehlum and Hari Pur. The Muslim Youth League (MYL) in the UK has been reformed and restructured, the process of which was initiated in an MYL UK meeting with Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri two weeks ago. In that meeting Shaykh-ul-Islam announced the basic structure that will be followed by the new MYL UK. He announced Tahseen Khalid from Sheffield as the new president of MYL UK. He also declared Tanzeem Begum from Birmingham as the President of MYL UK (Sisters). According to the instructions of Shaykh-ul-Islam the new MYL UK began its work and had its first quarterly meeting of the MYL UK National Youth Council (NYC) on Sunday 10th August 2008, at Aston University, Birmingham. Brothers and sisters had separate meetings.
Red Cross Delegation Visits Central Secretariat.
A three member delegation of Red Cross (Geneva) visited the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 7th of August, 2008. Principal Secretary to Shaykh-ul-Islam and Director Foreign Affairs G.M.Malik received the guests. The delegation comprised Faite Alexandre, Miriam Zampatti and Mr. Salah-ud-Din. Director Foreign Affairs conducted the delegation to a visit of different directorates and departments of MQI.
Upon their arrival at the Copenhagen airport in connection with the organizational tour of Europe on August 07, 2008, Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri (President Supreme Council MQI) and Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi (Nazim-e-Ala MQI) were given a red carpet welcome by the workers and associates of Denmark chapter of Minhaj-ul-Quran International.
A six-member delegation of Pakistan Hockey Team visited the central Secretariat of MQI on July 24 under the leadership of its captain Zeeshan Ashraf. The delegation comprised vice captain Muhammad Imran, Full Back Imran Warsi, Center Half Muhammad Javid, Farward Muhammad Irfan and Full Back Muhammad Itique in addition to captain Zeeshan Ashraf.
The Workers' Convention of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was held in the Minhaj University Campus Township on July 5, 2008 where a beautifully-decorated venue was set up. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presided over the event, whereas Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; president of the Supreme Council (MQI), and Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, member of the Supreme Council (MQI), were the guest of honour at the occasion. Sardar Ganga Singh Dahloon from Virginia State of the US, president of Tehreek-i-Khalistan, had a special attendance of the programme.
The Walima function of Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, son of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, was held in the Minhaj University Township on June 28, 2008. Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The function was attended by a large number of people from diverse walks of life including prominent religious scholars, actors, politicians, technocrats, lawyers, and doctors etc. Separate arrangements were made for women in the Minhaj Girls College.
On May 11, 2008 Minhaj Youth League organized a walk of children in front of the Lahore Press Club in order to mark International Mother Day. The walk started at 4 p.m. in which children from across different schools of Lahore participated. The children collectively led the walk and took a round of the Lahore Press Club. They were bearing a huge banner on which was written: "Saluting you, dear Mother".
Milad Festival continued for the second day. The event is being organized under aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League at the Race Course Park, Lahore. The wife of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Begum Riffat Jabeen Qadri, along with her daughters inaugurated the proceedings of the Milad Festival. They visited various stalls. The central leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women also accompanied them.
A Milad Rally was organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League in Karachi. After Salaat ul Isha, a rally started from Tariq Road Main chowrangi and about 02 KM distance from Tariq Road to Bahadurabad Chowrangi traveled in 02 hours. People began to emerge after Maghrib prayer in great numbers to join the rally, MYL representatives began to distribute burning torches and colorful flags to everyone. All peoples line up in the procession and began reciting the durood.
Durind the event, Muhammad Javid Akhtar, In-charge of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Educational Project, presented an update on the progress made on behalf of Minhaj-ul-Quran Halifax to Allama Idrees Sahib, and mentioned that we are very lucky to have had a visit from Shaykh-ul-Islam in 1990 which was the starting point of Shaykh-ul-Islam's tour of the UK, during this tour Shaykh-ul-Islam also opened the very first Minhaj-ul-Quran Library in Halifax at this residence.
The Mawlid un Nabi Conference 2008 took place in Idara Minhaj Ul Quran, Valby in Copenhagen on the 20th March 2008. MQI scholars and other guests presided over the event, while Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees (Markazi Nazim DAwat of TMQ) was invited as guest speaker. The conference attracted hundreds of men and women from across the country marking this year's event with a record-breaking participation.
