In the beautiful Green Dome Mosque in Luton many women gathered to attend a one day the conference in the name of Shaykh abdul Qadir al Jiliani (ra) organised by Mrs Shah. It was nice to see the younger sisters attending this programme as there can be some confusion in the minds of the youth around Awliyah (Saints) and their status and even their existence. (As’stugfir-Allah).
As the month of Safar draws to an end, the hearts of certain people, whether they are practicing or not, good or bad, feel a certain warmth that increases as each minute ticks by. Their eyes begin to twinkle. They are full of so much love and happiness that an onlooker will be confused into thinking it is near the end of Ramadhan and Eid is around the corner.
Al-Hidayah [the guidance] is a four-day spiritual retreat set in a wonderful countryside setting, at Heythrop Park, Oxfordshire. This event that has taken place, is one of the most unique events for Muslim youths living in the west, such an experience will live in our memories for years to come.

Setting off from London Islamic Cultural Centre we were about to embark on our spiritual journey of Al Hidaya camp 2005, on our quest for thirst of knowledge. And in search of classical and authentic teachings of our beloved Rasul (saw).
Setting off from London Islamic Cultural Centre we were about to embark on our spiritual journey of Al Hidaya camp 2005, on our quest for thirst of knowledge. And in search of classical and authentic teachings of our beloved Rasul (saw). On reaching the venue set in the beautiful surroundings of Shropshire hundreds of young Muslims from around the World (brothers & sisters) gathered eager to taste the blessed fruits of sacred knowledge and thirsty to drink from the fountain of Tarbiyya (teachings)from the great Mujadid (reviver of Islam) 'Sheykh -ul- Islam.
The first thing that struck me about Shaykh ul-Islam, Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri was his voice. I remember the first time I sat in one of his lectures, I couldn’t see his face and I didn’t really know much about him, but as soon as I heard his voice, the calmness, the peace and tranquillity of his voice was something very distinct, and I knew he was no ordinary scholar. Then as I listened to the things he was saying my heart was being shown Islam in a completely different light. Up to now my Islam had been purely physical, a set of mechanical rituals, it was lacking the real spirit of Islam.
It is a great pleasure and honour to say that I have spent many days and evenings, even nights in the presence of Shaykh-ul-Islam. You see a very different human being when you interact with him behind closed doors. The spirituality factor no doubt rises up another notch or two. There are many pauses and long periods of silence when it is just yourself and he in one room. It makes you think is Qibla just looking me straight in the eyes or is he lost in the streets of Madinah-tul-Munawara.Though I had been a fan of Shaykh-ul-Islam for many a year as pictures of him in our family home, his cassettes and audios in many cupboards, I never knew what all the fuss was about until my first ever interaction with him. It was at Heathrow airport and some of the MYL members decided to introduce myself and other youth brothers to Shaykh-ul-Islam on a one to one basis. There stood Shaykh with my eyes glued to the floor. He began to pat my chest as is done so commonly by him. However the patting didn’t stop. It went on for hours it felt at the time. Then courageously I looked up and my perception had changed. Before it was normal, Shaykh-ul-Islam is smiling, Mash’Allah. Now it was look at the beauty of the smile. Look at his eloquence. Look at how he treats those who are close to him. Those little things held neither meaning nor value before. That day changed my life. It was as if all the dirt within my heart had been pierced out with the blessed hands of Shaykh-ul-Islam and the love of his beloved had shone through.
