Love for the Holy Prophet (pbuh) panacea of our collective ills: Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that love for the Holy Prophet (pbuh) is the love for Allah Almighty. The Prophetic love is the greatest asset of Muslim Umma and it is incumbent upon every Muslim to protect it. Islam does not preach oppression or coercion; rather it is a religion of peace, security, and morality. It enjoins upon its followers to focus their attention on character building. By studying the blessed life of the Holy Prophet (pbuh), one comes to know that the Prophet’s life is an embodiment of morality and an ideal for humanity in every respect. Human history fails to find any parallel. He said that there was a need to make sincere efforts for remedying the collective disorder so that peace and tranquility could return to society. He said that we would have to give up materialistic life style and adopt humanism in our dealings with our fellow beings. ‘In order to change the collective orientation of society and defeat the forces of materialism, we need to highlight the Islamic concept of brotherhood, sympathy and equality and take effective steps to foster these values amongst ourselves,” Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri opined.
Shaykh-ul-Islam expressed these views during his telephonic address to a Workshop held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League yesterday. He said that MQI is a global organization engaged in the task of promoting peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony in the world. At a time when Islam is being denounced for acts of extremists, MQI is making its sincere efforts to remove misunderstandings and build bridges. He said that MQI is targeting the youth community and is reforming their character through sound education of Islamic teachings so that they remain immune to the extremist ideology.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri urged every worker of MQI to play his due role in eliminating extremism by propagating the peaceful message of Islam. He said that sectarian tendencies were at the forefront of radicalization process and every one of us should promote tolerance and harmony in the society. He said that Muslims are brother unto one another irrespective of their associations of caste, creed, colour and region. ‘It is by reconnecting ourselves to the Holy Prophet (pbuh) that we can find solution to our problems,’ he emphasized.
Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Bilal Mustafavi, Amjad Hussain Jutt, Sajid Gondal, Raja Jamil Ajmal, Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Jawad Hamid, Sajid Bhatti, and Dr Shahid Mahmood were also present on the occasion.
