Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri condemns attack on shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi

Those who have attacked the revered shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi cannot be Muslims. A true Muslim is a source of peace and safety for those around him. Killing innocent people is the work of anti-Islam and anti-state elements bent on bringing disrepute to our great religion and Pakistan. These views were expressed by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in his reaction to the bomb blasts at the respected shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi on Thursday. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri condemned the attack in strong words, saying terrorism and extremism constitute the biggest challenge to our state and society. He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in peace and give patience to their respective families to bear the loss of their near and dear ones.

Sahibzada Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; president of MQI’s Supreme Council, Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri; president of MQI’s Federal Council, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi; Secretary General of MQI and Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz; Deputy Secretary General of MQI have also condemned the bomb blast at the shrine. In their joint statement, they regretted the governmental response vis-à-vis attack on the Data Darbar a few months ago. They said that had the government authorities nabbed those behind the attack on the shrine of Data Darbar, this attack on Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine could have been preempted and obviated. They emphasized the need of valid intelligence gathering to ward off any such incidents in the future. They also condoled with the families of the deceased.
