Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri condemns suicide attacks in Data Darbar
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has condemned the suicide attacks in the renowned shrine of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, which killed around 50 devotees and injured more than 150 people on Thursday night in Lahore. He said that those who abetted, planned and carried out these dastardly attacks were not Muslims. They are the worst enemies of Islam, Pakistan and entire humanity. I have maintained for long that there is a need to disconnect the supply line and sources of supports of these terrorists for their complete elimination, he opined. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that shrines of the Sufi saints and Friends of Allah are the beacon of light and hope for the depressed humanity. People come here to get spiritual enlightenment and solace. By choosing to targets these bastions of peace, the extremists and terrorists have only exposed perversion of their minds, he stated.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the religious scholars and religious parties of all hues and colours to come forward and issue a collective condemnation of this heinous act. He warned that if religious parties did not show maturity, the terrorists would be able to ignite the fires of sectarianism and factionalism in the country. He hoped that the nation would stand united in its resolve against terrorism and defeat all such elements who are bent on bringing Islam into disrepute. Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in peace and give patience to the bereaved families to bear the loss of lives of their near and dear ones.
