Final phase of green revolution to replace political system: Dr Qadri
LAHORE, May 10 (NNI): The General Elections of Pakistan which were held on May 11, 2013 proved to be the worst rigged elections ever held in its history. Consequentially the winning and the losing parties have complained of pre/post-election rigging.
The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) led by Founding Chairman of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is going to hold protests in 50 major districts of the country and a major protest rallies in Rawalpindi and Lahore in this regard.
Despite passage of almost one year, the government has failed to control the major challenges being faced by the country.
“The government has failed to curb the menace of terrorism from the country, talks with the terrorists have failed badly but yet are top of agenda for the Prime Minister. Lawlessness, unemployment and poverty is on the rise. Direct illegal appointments for 50 officials of various institutions by the Prime Minister (A direct violation of the Supreme Court judgement which orders to form for the composition of a federal commission for such appointments). Major mega-corruption scandals exposed hidden under privatization,” a PAT statement said here Saturday.
The statement further claimed that Nawaz Sharif government begs for more than $52 billion in external loans ($32bn+ from China, $12bn from World Bank, $6.6bn from IMF, $2bn Eurobonds etc) and highest level of foreign debt in just 1 year, compared to $60bn in 28 years of Pakistan history.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri exposed the drama of the elections well in time during his historic Long March to Islamabad in January 2013 where he warned that elections without reforms would be unconstitutional, said the statement.
May 11, 2014 will mark one year of the new Government in office hiding behind what is fake democracy.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will deliver a speech to hundreds of thousands of protesters via video-link from Canada. He is expected to announce the final date for the final phase of the Green Revolution in Pakistan. Dr Qadri will present a glimpse of the new system which the revolution will put in place.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said: “In Pakistan there is no democracy, there is a political dictatorship.” He further said “After the Green Revolution the constitutional spirit will be returned and the nation will flourish.” He added that “The Prime Minister should be tried under Court of Contempt and dismissed.”
It is pivotal to mention that Dr Qadri led the most peaceful “anti-corruption and pro true democracy” Long March in January 2013 and demanded electoral reforms before holding General Elections but these demands were completely ignored. But his peaceful struggle for a revolution and restoration of true democracy in Pakistan continued. Dr Qadri said that the 11 May protests will be the start of the final phase of the Green Revolution in Pakistan which will end the exploitative and corrupt political system that protects the corrupt, the criminals, dynastic politics, feudal lords and terrorists.
Dr Qadri is also expected to arrive in Pakistan to lead the final phase of the revolution which will take place before the end of 2014, the statement said. NNI
