JI to attend APC

A THREE-member Jamaat-e-Islami delegation will attend the APC being organised by Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri on Sunday to discuss the police action and shooting at Minjahul Quran Secretariat, leaving 14 workers dead.

This decision was taken at a meeting at Mansoora on the directions of JI Ameer Sirajul Haq after an invitation by phone from the PAT chief.

JI Naib Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Idrees chaired the meeting. The JI leaders nominated JI Punjab general secretary Nazir Ahmed Janjua, JI Lahore Ameer Mian Maqsood Ahmed and Hafiz Salman Butt for the APC. Meanwhile, PML-Q President Ch Shujaat Husain phoned the JI Ameer and expressed his desire to meet him.

The JI Ameer told Ch Shujaat that he was currently busy in relief arrangements for IDPs of North Waziristan and would be available for meeting in July. The two leaders are likely to sit together at Mansoora in the first week of July.
