PAT asks Rana Sanaullah eight questions about Model Town tragedy
While commenting on the press conference of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah regarding Model Town tragedy, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has described it as pack of lies and misleading.
The PAT Secretary General raised seven questions asking the rulers to reply them: One, why was FIR of Model Town tragedy registered after 69 days? Two, is registration of FIR not every citizen’s basic right and the responsibility of the police? Three, Rana Sanaullah has admitted to a high-powered meeting in regard to removal of barriers two days ahead of the Model Town tragedy, what were the extraordinary circumstances that necessitated the assemblage of police force of whole Lahore and emergency meeting at the CM Secretariat? Four, on whose orders did the police come to remove the barriers that were placed on the orders of LHC? Five, on what evidence did the police register FIR against the heirs of martyrs and the injured of the tragedy? Six, what was the fear in the mind of police that JIT was formed without taking the families of martyrs into confidence and even its report was not published? Seven, why has the report of the judicial commission not been published despite passage of one and half years? Eight, one judicial commission, two JITs and one review committee were formed on the Model Town, why were their reports not handed over the heirs of martyrs?
Meanwhile, Khawaja Amir Fareed Korjea has said that Rana Sanaullah is expert in cooking up lies and a blot on the face of the government. He said that the rulers are nervous after the arrival of Dr Qadri. He said that Qisas will be taken and justice will make its own course. Commenting on the statement of the minister, he said that we have been hearing all along that lies have no feet to stand on, wondering how come the government ministers have the gall to manufacture new lies every day.
