Allah describes those who control their anger as the pious: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Founding leader of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri delivered his special lecture on anger management as part of series of his talk on the subject of "Solitude and our Life." The lecture was delivered to the members of the Central Working Council through a video link. He said Allah has included those who control their anger among the pious and gave them the glad tidings of His nearness and paradise. He said anger management is essential and those who do not take care of their anger suffer from immense losses in their domestic, social, and public life. At times, they not only suffer from personal harm but also end up destroying their business and human relations.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said Allah Almighty has discussed the topic of anger management in great detail in the Holy Quran. He said there is an assumption that absorption of anger has a negative effect on man's physical and psychological health, adding that it is a separate topic that calls for discussion on another day. He said there are signs to identify that one suffers from anger. He said it is equally important to be aware of them so that one can deal with the anger and its ill effects with a positive mindset.
Dr Qadri said Allah Almighty has given glad tidings of His nearness and paradise to the people doing the following four things: (1) spending in the way of Allah; (2) absorption of anger; (3) forgiveness of the mistakes of others and (4) doing favors to others. He said the acts of spending in the way of Allah and showing tolerance and forbearance are among the signs of having complete faith. He said the environment in which we live, it is very likely that things happen contrary to our dispositions and liking, adding that it is perfectly in man's control as to how to react to such a situation. He said man loses a sense of balance in case of anger, alienating people due to his impulsive and reactive outbursts. He said the opinions of such a person are not given any importance. He said we should make every possible effort to contain our anger.
