Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din’s Award celebrated

A prestigious ceremony was held at the MQI central secretariat to honor Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, for being honoured with the global Ambassador of Peace award by the Universal Peace Federation in Vienna, Austria. Central leaders congratulated him on behalf of the organization during the event.

Speaking on the occasion, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that this is the first award received by any Pakistani from the Universal Peace Federation. He said that the award was given to him in recognition of the practical efforts of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and Minhaj University Lahore in promoting interfaith harmony. He said that Minhaj University Lahore has achieved the distinction of organizing the most international conferences on world religions and launching top educational degree programs for a minority population of over 20 million people in their respective religion, which has been acknowledged worldwide.

Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that international organizations are showing interest in collaborating with Minhaj University Lahore to play a role at the research level in combating illegal immigration and human trafficking, and in this regard, renowned universities around the world are signing memoranda of understanding (MoUs). He further said that in the light of the vision of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Minhaj-ul-Quran International is providing religious, educational, and humanitarian services, which are being acknowledged globally. He said the determined and patriotic leaders of the movement are also deserving of congratulations on this acknowledgment.

“Minhaj-ul-Quran International is a unique religious, reformist, and welfare movement that has established a regular forum for promoting interfaith harmony and brought together all sections of society on a platform of mutual peace,” he said.

Dr Hussain congratulated Sohail Ahmed Raza, Director of Interfaith Relations and all the members of his team for their significant contributions to the strengthening of interfaith relations and announced awards and gold medals for the Interfaith Relations department. A large number of Deputy Nazims, Directors of Departments, forum heads, and staff members attended the ceremony.
