Hong Kong: MYL holds a workshop on drug abuse
Minhaj Youth League Hong Kong organized a Drug Prevention Workshop on Sunday, 12th December, 2021. The aim of the workshop was to educate the ethnic minority youth and raise their and their parents' awareness on various aspects related to the drug abuse. The program was attended by a large number of people.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with various law enforcement agencies in Hong Kong, which include the Hong Kong Police Force, Hong Kong Customs & Excise Department, Hong Kong Correctional Services Department, and the Society of Rehabilitation & Crime Prevention of Hong Kong.
The guest of honour was the divisional Commander of Kwai Tsing District Police Office, Mr. Tse Chun Chung, John.
The program started with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran followed by the welcome speech by Azam Hasnain, president of Minhaj Youth League HK. Mr Hasnain welcomed all the honourable guests and talked about the mission of Minhaj-ul-Quran worldwide. Next, the chief guest, Mr Tse Chun Chung, John, delivered the keynote speech and gave details about what initiatives his department has taken to help the minorities in Hong Kong.
After the keynote speech from the chief guest, a number of professionals from various departments shared their experiences and highlighted the social, criminal, and law-related aspects of drug abuse. Moreover, they also educated the audience how to say no to drugs in different situations by emphasizing and explaining in detail the root causes of drug abuses and their negative consequences.
In the end, Imam Hafiz Muhammad Naseem Khan gave a detailed account of Islamic rules and guidelines concerning intoxications. The closing remarks were presented by Mohammad Hafiz who is the vice -president of Minhaj-ul-Quran Hong Kong.
