Parliamentarians declaring us rebels & terrorists for standing up for our rights: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has vowed to face the oppressor with the power of his workers’ patience, adding that coming out for the sake of getting one’s rights is not rebellion but those sitting in Parliament are hell bent on declaring them as rebels and terrorists.
Addressing the participants of revolution march in front of Parliament House, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that abuses and slander were being hurled at them from the joint session of Parliament. He said that not even a single member had the courage to put forward this question as to why thousands of people had encamped themselves in front of Parliament House and had been staging peaceful sit-in for last many decades. He said that none discussed as to what ailed these protesters and what had brought them there.
Dr Qadri asked the Parliament to answer as to who was responsible for not listening to the poor and downtrodden people. He asked as to why the members of Parliament did not move on the day when the Model Town tragedy took place and why they did not raise their voice for the victims. He deplored the fact that those accused in FIR in Model Town incident were at large after FIR had been registered with the passage of over two months.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the report of Judicial Tribunal set up by the Punjab government to probe the tragedy held Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Punjab government responsible for the massacre but he did not tender his resignation and present himself for fair trial. He said that it was astonishing as to why the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister were sitting on the report and not allowing its release to media and people. He said that if the rulers brought about an amendment in the Constitution that they would be given exemption from legal proceedings if they killed anyone, we would wind up our sit-in and go back home.
PAT leader said that if the Chinese President was not coming to Pakistan, it was failure of the government. He said that if the honorable guest came to Islamabad, the workers of PAT would give him a very warm welcome and shower roses on him. He announced to open a school there for children of revolution march by the name of ‘revolution march school’.
