Samaa News: Qadri seeks political system based on Jinnah vision
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said the influential people, in order to save their lands, dynamited the protective embankments and deluged the lands of the poor.
Addressing the participants of the Inqilab March sit-in opposite Parliament House, he said the puissant ruined the impoverished in floods by inundating their lands.
Mentioning that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif apologized thrice over the speech of Aitzaz Ahsan on the floor of the House, Dr. Qadri asserted this humbleness in the government’s attitude was caused by the sit-in.
The PAT chief said Nawaz Sharif never gave so much time to the parliament throughout his political life, adding the government also faced the censure by the opposition with great patience.
The rulers had never been used to listening to something which they did not like, he added.
It was the pressure of the sit-in that shoved Nawaz Sharif to the floor of the House, where the longest joint session of the Parliament was held, he added.
The PAT chief warned the police for subjecting a worker to torture and robbing him of his money.
Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri maintained the present political system stands in confrontation with the Constitution and the canons set by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah; this is the reason that he came out of his house to metamorphose this corrupt system in line with Jinnah’s teachings.
Elaborating the people’s constitutional right to freely choose the candidate to represent them, Dr. Qadri said under the prevalent system, people’s hands are tied, as the main leaderships of the political parties autocratically pick the candidates with involvement of millions of rupees.
With no regard for the will of the masses, the party tickets are offered to the people who donate millions of rupees in the party’s fund, he stressed.
He said his struggle is aimed at abolishing the monopolization of the political parties, adding the PAT seeks to install such a political system in which people can freely pick up their candidates in the light of teachings of Quaid-e-Azam and the Constitution.
He also mentioned that Quaid-e-Azam, while addressing Karachi Bar Association, asserted that Islam entitles human beings with economic and legal freedom. Quaid-e-Azam said Islam does not admit of any difference between the rich and the poor, and the powerful and the weak.
Dr. Qadri quoted from the same speech, saying Quaid-e-Azam asserted that Islam is not a blend of only some beliefs and traditions; instead, it is based on great principles even in politics and economy.
However, the powerful elites, in quest of power, put all these guiding principles set by the founding father on the backburner, the PAT chief underlined adding there are no public representatives in the Parliament, as they forced their way into the assemblies with the fake mandate, in violation of the Constitution.
He announced, “We will effect such revolutionary changes in the electoral system that will put an end to the dynasties and give due representation to the poor.”
Dr. Qadri maintained Constitution Avenue never witnessed such a spectacle in the entire 65 years of Pakistan’s history with the parliamentarians straining their minds as to creatures of which planet have thronged this road.
“O dear parliamentarians, I must tell you that these are real masses. They are the ones who voted you in the Parliament.”
The rally of people will turn into tempest and head towards the centers of powers like the revolutions of France and Russia, the PAT chief emphasized adding the time is not far away when the rulers will be held to account for their past misdeeds. –SAMAA
