32nd Foundation Day of MQI celebrated around the world
The 32nd foundation day of Minhaj-ul-Quran International was celebrated across the world in over 100 countries with traditional fervor. Seminars and workshops were held in six continents to mark the day to pay glowing tributes to the untiring struggle of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri that spans over three decades. The foundation day ceremonies were attended by office holders, associates and workers of MQI in large numbers. Cakes were cut and special prayers were made for good health and long life of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
Addressing the central ceremony held at secretariat of MQI in Lahore, Amir-e-Tehreek Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri founded Minhaj-ul-Quran International from Lahore three decades ago, which has now grown into one of the largest organizations in non-governmental sector having its centres and presence in 100 countries and 6 continents. He said that thanks to his massive contributions for the promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony, the world recognized Shaykh-ul-Islam as the Ambassador of Peace.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri would return to Pakistan on December 23 this year and spearhead struggle for change in the country. He said that the nation was eagerly waiting for him to bring about change in the system. He said that the hundreds of thousands of people would extend historic welcome to Shaykh-ul-Islam on his arrival at Minar-e-Pakistan.
He said that the current electoral system was the real enemy of the state and society, adding that the elections were not the solution to the malaise afflicting the nation. He said that the conduct of elections without reforms would push the country further into blind alley. He said that it was through comprehensive reforms in the electoral system that the foundations of real democracy could be laid in the country.
Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, senior Deputy Secretary General, said in his remarks that the arrival of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri will herald a new beginning in Pakistan when the hundreds of thousands of people would take to the street to welcome their beloved leader.
Addressing the foundation day ceremony, Deputy Amir-e-Tehreek Sadiq Qureshi said that MQI was one of the most organized movements of the world and the credit for this rare feat went undoubtedly to Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri who was busy in projecting the real teachings of Islam in the world. He said that MQI had taken up the banner of change and the movement had the potential to bring about change in the lives of the masses. He said that the 23rd of December would prove to be a seminal point in this regard. He said that the day would be remembered for times to come.
