Hazrat Imam Hussain a pride for entire humanity; Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani

Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, central Amir of MQI, has said that grief for Hazrat Imam Hussain, may Allah be pleased with him, is part of every believer’s faith. He said that attributing it solely to one sect and a particular school of thought was not correct. He said that the great Imam was a strong proponent of peace, truth, and love while Yazid was a representative of evil, terrorism, exploitation and oppression. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain taught a great lesson of not submitting to oppression.

Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani expressed these views while talking to a delegation of religious scholars of Minhaj-ul-Ulama Council that called on him in his office the other day. Secretary General of the Council Allama Farhat Hussain Shah, Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Allama Mumtaz Saddiqi, Syed Nazar Mohi-ud-Din Shah, Allama Usman Sialvi and others were members of the delegation.

Amir-e-Threek of MQI said that the attitudes of Hussainayat and Yazidayat issued forth from the plains of Karbla, which would continue to characterise human conduct till Day of Judgment. He said that by refusing to take allegiance at the hands of Yazid, the great Imam gave the message that the one who did not compromise over principles and chose to render his life would continue to live for eternity, while the dictator of the time lost despite having an apparent victory and became deserving of universal censure and condemnation.

Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Yazid tried to disfigure the Islamic teachings, which was not acceptable to Hazrat Imam Hussain. The latter then offered the sacrifice of his entire family and made Islam eternal till Day of Judgment. He said that the great act of the Imam generated positive attitude of submission, patience, steadfastness and sacrifice and the entire humanity had been benefiting from this attitude and values. He said that Hazrat Imam Hussain is as much respectable for the non-Muslims as he is for the Muslims, for he made the entire humanity proud through his supreme act.
