Chop off my head but return dead bodies of my workers: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

O, cruel rulers chop off my head and bury the remainder of my body in the footsteps of Hazrat Imam e Hussain (RA) or Bibi Zainab (RA) but return the dead bodies of my six sons and daughters, my workers. Humanity is being disgraced and defaced in the Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan where sons, and daughters of the motherland are being killed mercilessly and thousands of the arrested workers are being tortured by police in detention centres. Why is the entire country keep mum on this sad state of affairs? All of this treatment could be meted out to your children tomorrow. Tell me, police officers and cruel rulers, do not you have your own sons and daughters?

These views were expressed by PAT Chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri while talking to media and speaking to party workers in Model Town on August 12. He said that he would live and die with the workers, adding that if the rulers crossed all limits of oppression, the workers crossed all limits of patience and self-restraint. He said that the workers coming to attend Martyrs Day were subjected to barbarism and brutality. The women workers were held by hair and dragged on roads while thousands of workers were beaten, arrested and put into jails where they were being tortured with abandon.

Dr Qadri said that the dead bodies of six of the workers coming from Khushab, Jhelum, Behra, Sargodha and Gujranwala who were killed by police were not being returned. He said that the dead bodies of martyrs of Depalpur and Bakhar were handed over. He said that even Yazid did not commit this much oppression, adding that he at least returned the pious dead bodies of the family of great Imam Hussain (RA).

He said that he taught his workers the lesson of peacefulness for 33 years and ignited in their hearts the love of the Holy Prophet (SAW). He said that the brutes of Punjab police had whisked away the peaceful daughters of PAT and only God knows what treatment the brutes could be meting out to them in detention centres. He said that our crime was to fight a war for the restoration of rights of the poor without arms in accordance with the Constitution. He asked the poor to invoke and beseech Allah’s Help for riddance of these corrupt and cruel rulers.

Dr Qadri invited political parties, human rights organizations, government representatives and media persons to visit PAT Secretariat and inspect its office the way they pleased, adding that if they found any of weapons or arms from there, he would himself ban his party and withdraw the call for revolution march. He said that the events of past few weeks proved that none was more cruel and terrorist than the present-day rulers and more peaceful than the PAT workers. He said that the government recruited 5000 terrorists into Punjab police who it was using to mass kill people. He directed the workers not to allow Gullu Butts to enter their ranks and if someone was caught, he should be presented before the media instead of being tortured. He regretted the Court’s decision of releasing Gullu Butt.
