Itikaf City 2009: Fifth Day
The fifth day at the 19th Itikaf City of Minhaj-ul-Quran International began with usual melodious voices of people reciting the Word of God and offering Durood and Salutation on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) collectively. The atmosphere was electrifying with people lost deep in remembrance of their Lord in the early hours of the fifth day of Itikaf. The third annual Mehfil-e-Naat organized by Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League left its penetrating impact on the participants. In addition to the select Naat Khawans belonging to MYL from across the country, Qari Mushtaq Anwar and other guests also participated. The players of Pakistan’s Hockey Team including Captain Zeeshan Ashraf, Irfan Ali, Farid Ahmad, Sajjad Anwar and Imran Shah particularly participated in the Mehfil-e-Naat. A video clip of Quranic recitation by Hammad Mustafa Qadri, grandson of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, was also shown at 12 at night in the same gathering. Qari Sayyid Sadaqat Ali, renowned Qari of the Islamic world, was also seen present on the stage.
Qari Mushtaq Anwar mesmerized the audience with his magical voice. This spiritual gathering continued well into dead hours of night. Thousand of the participants also attended it because this was a ‘Taaq’ night.
Iftar Dinner for VIPs
On the 24th of the Ramadan, Iftar dinner was arranged in the honour of important and privileged people of the society. A large number of people including religious scholars, Mashaykh, political and civil society leaders, lawyers and journalists attended the dinner. Muhammad Saqalian, former captain and star centre half of Pakistan Hockey Team and Farhat Saddiqui, father of renowned Test Cricketer Imran Farhat, also participated on special invitation. Nazim-e-Ala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, naib Nazim-e-Ala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and other central leaders of MQI welcomed the respected guests. MQI leaders also briefed them about the Itikaf City.
Farhat Saddiqui, who was hostel superintendent in the Punjab University (Law College) during the student days of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, reminisced his memories about Shaykh-ul-Islam.
