Demonstrations held in Okara & Haroonabad against JIT report & reinstatement of Rana Sanaullah
PAT Okara and Haroonabad chapters took out demonstrations outside the press clubs to protest the induction of Rana Sanaullah into cabinet and the fake JIT report. These protests are part of the campaign being spearheaded by PAT across the country. The protesters chanted passionate slogans against the government and lack of justice in the Model Town case. They demanded revocation of the JIT report and sacking of Rana Sanaullah from the cabinet.
Senior PAT leader Latif Madani led the demonstration in Okara while the demonstration in Haroonabad was led by district Amir Khawaja Allah Rakha.
Addressing the demonstration, Latif Madani said that we have taken to the streets for justice. He said that as long as the last of PAT workers is alive, we would not rest till we get justice for our martyred brothers and sisters. He said that Punjab Chief Minister is a liar. He reminded whether the CM did not say if the judicial commission even hint at him, he would resign immediately from his position. He said that the CM has been sitting on the report of Justice Najfi commission because it was to his liking. Instead, he constituted a JIT consisting of his servants who gave him a clean chit in the Model Town case. He said if the CM is innocent, why does he not order the release of the judicial commission’s report?
Addressing the demonstrators in Haroonabad, district Amir Khawaja Allah Rakha said that while the society based on Kufr can stay intact, those based on oppression cannot hold themselves. He said that the present rulers have blood at their hands and they are the major hurdle in the way of dispensation of justice. He said that they are treading the path of Pharaoh, adding that he also slaughtered people to save his power and the present rulers have also shed the blood of innocent civilians to perpetuate their power. He said that their end would be no different than that of Pharaoh.
The hundreds of workers attended the demonstrations in Okara and Haroonabad.
