MQI’s distinction in multi-religious sports festival in Berlin

For the promotion of peaceful and friendly co-existence between the followers of different faiths, a sport festival was organized on 16.10.2010. Minhaj-ul-Quran International Berlin contributed fully to this event. The other organizers of this event were

- Katholische-Pfarrgemeinde St. Paulus

- Evangelische-Freikirchliche Bethania-Gemeinde

- Ayasofya Moschee e. V. (Turkish)

- Evangelische Kirchengemeinde Moabit West

- Evanglische Kirchengemeinde St. Johanis

The visitors were not only provided with detailed information about the participants’ activities at their information desks but also entertained with different sports, music and refreshments.

The general secretary of MQI Berlin Mr. Mohammad Irshad informed the visitors about the mission of Minhaj-ul-Quran International under the patronage of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. They were also asked to refer to the website of Minhaj-ul-Quran International for further information.

The newly appointed graduate of Minhaj University, Hafiz Tariq Ali, also participated in this festival. The young players of MQI Berlin who took part in Table Tennis, Badminton and Football were Ehsan Mehmood, Mohammad Ali Irshad, Junaid Waraich, Noman Rasool, Mohammad Shoeb Irshad, Usman Sawar, Arslan Chughtai, Milkha Singh, Hani, Mubashar Hussain, Aslan Mehmood. The highlight of this festival was the announcement of MQI Berlin as the football Champion and Ehsan Mehmood was declared as the player of the tournament.

At the end of the celebration, it was pledged by the organizers to strengthen their cooperation to promote peaceful and friendly atmosphere amongst the followers of different faiths.
