UK- Dhikr gathering held under MYL UK to welcome New Year
On the New Year’s Eve, when most people prefer to go to the city to view the firework celebrations and attend parties, Muslim Youth League organised a spiritual gathering at Minhaj-ul-Quran International(London) to start the year with the remembrance of Allah (SWT) and demonstrate love for Holy Prophet (SAW). The event was hosted by Rafiq Ahmed and Hafiz Asim Shabbir, whereas a large number of youth turned up to take part in the event.
The proceedings began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Hafiz Hassan who is a student of Minhaj School of Islamic Science, London followed by of Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet (SAW) by Zain Hussain, Hasnan Hussain, Hamayun Farooq, Hafiz Hamzah, Dawood Mehmood, and Hafiz Ahmed Raza. ‘Qasida Burdah sharif’ was also recited at the occasion. Shaykh Adnan Sohail gave the youth a thought provoking and encouraging talk. Talk had profound impact on the audience who were encouraged to think about their purpose of life. This was followed by an extract from from the Al-Hidayah lectures of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Director Minhaj-ul-Quran London, Allama Muhammad Zeeshan Qadri talked about the importance and virtues of the Dhikr of Allah (remembrance of Allah). He stated that a heart, which does not have the Dhikr of the Lord, is a dead heart. He also spoke about the importance of the love of the Prophet (SAW), his household, the Companions and the love of the Friends of Allah. The Shaykh highlighted that the love of those who love Allah (SWT) and his beloved people will ultimately lead you to love’s Allah and his Prophet (SAW). He stated that this was the means to gaining light and wisdom from the Messenger of Allah.
There was no doubt about the fact that it was an enlightening gathering of those who were blessed enough to attend it. The message of remaining steadfast in ‘Salah and the love of Allah (SWT) and His beloved people was the perfect way for beginning a New Year. We pray for successful 2014 ahead for Minhaj-ul-Quran International and pray for the long life and good health of Shaykh-ul-Islam. The gathering concluded with a dua and participants were offered refreshments.
