MQI teams up with London Borough to conduct a mobile vaccination

Minhaj-ul-Quran International (London) in conjunction with the London Borough of Newham successfully conducted a mobile vaccination center at its premises becoming the first mosque in Newham to do so. The move comes after research found the despite being one of the worst affected by Covid, the BAME community has been one of the most reluctant communities to take the vaccine.

Earlier in the year, the founder of Minhaj ul Quran, one of the world's leading scholars, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri urged Muslims to take the vaccine at the first given opportunity as it was an Islamic duty to do so. He explained how Islam always encourages scientific research and the development of innovative methods for helping mankind.

After being shut for almost a year with lockdown across the UK, mosques will now be at the forefront to ensure all people are vaccinated by the end of July. With this step taken, MQI hopes that other places of worship and community centres will also come forward and offer their venues for such a great cause.
