Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri delivers a Friday sermon in Kam Tin, Hong Kong

Knowledge of Hadith equally important to understand teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)

While addressing the Friday gathering, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri stated that this era is filled with trials, and the greatest trial of our time is the attempt to distance the younger generation from the love and teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through various means. He emphasized that there is a dire need today to connect the youth with the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his teachings.

Prof. Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that it is often said that one can fully practice the religion by only studying the Quran; however, this is not the case. Unless we seek guidance from the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the mysteries and secrets of the Quran will not be revealed to us. He said both the Holy Quran and Hadith are forms of divine revelation from Allah. The Quran is the clear revelation (Wahi e Jali), and the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), meaning the knowledge we receive through the words of the Prophet (PBUH), is the concealed revelation (Wahi e Khafi).

Continuing the lecture, Dr Hussain said that just as Allah has taken the responsibility of preserving the Quran, He has also taken the responsibility of preserving the Hadith of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Allah has stated that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) does not speak from his own desire, but what he (PBUH) says is according to the will and command of Allah. If we wish to understand the meanings and teachings of the Quran and benefit from them, we must seek guidance from the Hadith and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he added.

The gathering was attended by leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Hong Kong, prominent figures from various sectors of the local community, and a large number of people.
