MQI a bulwark against the forces of terrorism & extremism: Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League

Central Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Ms Sumaira Rafaqat has said that Islam condemns terrorism, extremism, sectarianism and militancy at every level and teaches tolerance, brotherhood, peace and moderation in society. She said that the domination of materialism has adversely impacted the spiritual and moral values. The religious scholars have huge obligation in this respect. They must forget their internal differences, organize themselves and launch a struggle for elimination of social evils and promotion of positive values in society.

She expressed these views while talking to a delegation of women from Multan who called on her in the Central Secretariat. Ayesha Shabbir, Sadaf Iqbal and Sajida Sadiq were also present on the occasion. She said that MQI is working worldwide against the forces of terrorism, sectarianism and extremism under the inspiring leadership of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Shaykh-ul-Islam, she added, has launched the struggle for the revival of knowledge in order to combat the perverted mindset which produces extremism and radicalism by wrongly invoking religious teachings. Ms Sumaira Rafaqat said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is known as the ambassador of peace around the world for his multiple services that has played significant role in defeating the vicious propaganda against Islam.

Condemning terrorist attack on the revered shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi, Ms Sumaira Rafaqat said that these shrines are the hub of promoting peace and tolerance in society. Attack on them would not be tolerated at all. She said that terrorists are enemies of humanity and Islam, and they want to bring Pakistan and Islam into disrepute through their nefarious activities. She asked the government to deal with the terrorists with iron hand.
