MQI urges doctors & Punjab government to reach amicable settlement
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the Punjab government should give a reasonable pay raise to the doctors. He asked the doctors to give up their strike in the interest of ailing patients who are having to face a lot of problems due to unending strike of the doctors. He said that the doctors do have the right to go on strike but they must lodge their protest through peaceful means as strike is instrumental in the deaths of poor patients. He asked the government authorities to give a sympathetic consideration to the demands of doctors so that they enjoy respectable life. “The prolongation of the strike and a sense of stalemate mean more misery for people. The government needs to make the resolution of this issue the topmost priority instead of beating about the bush,” he concluded.
