Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri requests Supreme Court to summon Zulifkar Mirza
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the documents and statements made public by Dr Zulifkar Mirza about the Karachi issue are quite important. He said that it is necessary to determine whether or not the facts contained in the statements of the former provincial minister and the PPP stalwart are accurate. “The Supreme Court should summon Dr Mirza along with all documents,” he demanded.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that in view of apprehensions expressed by Zulifkar Mirza, the apex court should take the documents and statements into its control because the possibility of elimination of record in the peculiar circumstances of Pakistan cannot be ruled out.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to Dr Raheeq Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, on phone from London.
He said that veracity of Zulifkar Mirza’s statements could be verified by going through the contents of the documents. It is in this context, he added, that the Supreme Court should summon the former home minister and fulfill the legal demands. Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri welcomed the Supreme Court’s suo moto notice of violence, target killing and law and order situation in Karachi. “A heavy responsibility rests on the shoulders of the apex court that it should hand down such a solid verdict after investigation as could address the root cause of this problem, enabling the people to be rid of culture of fear and insecurity,” he concluded.
