PAT dubs paltry decrease in POL prices as joke with nation
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that the government’s decision to marginally decrease prices of POL products was a bad joke with the nation which was stricken by explosive dearness. He asked the government not to push the people against the wall.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani expressed these views while talking to a delegation of PAT Lahore, which called on him under the leadership of Afzal Gujjar, PAT President of Lahore chapter. G.M. Malik, Jawad Hamid, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, and Dr Tanvir Azam were also present on the occasion.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek rejected the government’s policy of fixing prices of POL products. He said that the government uses small raise in international POL prices as an excuse to heftily increase their prices back home and that too as a continuing pattern. He asked the government not only to withdraw the recent raise in prices of CNG and POL but also formulate a comprehensive strategy in this regard.
PAT President said that the people were already under tremendous economic pressure because of multiple factors including that of terrorism and extremism. They, he said, need a break from hearing bad news.
