Tahirul Qadri urges army to check killings in Balochistan - The News
LAHORE: TMQ Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri termed Quetta killings part of a conspiracy to disintegrate Pakistan on sectarian lines and urged the army to intervene and play its due role to save the country particularly Balochistan Province.
Addressing a Press conference at TMQ Secretariat on Tuesday, he said that the civil administration has failed to maintain law and order in Balochistan and under such circumstances calling army was a constitutional alternative.
Dr Tahirul Qadri said it was responsibility of the army to take notice of killings and lawlessness at such a massive scale and come forward to protect life and property of people of Balochistan. He said that it was a pity that terrorists were given safe hideouts in Pakistan and parties struck deals with them to get favourable election results. He said that 9/11 changed thinking all over the world but Pakistan was the only country where there was no counter-terrorism policy to protect public life and property. He said that the entire nation was feeling grief of Hazara community. He urged the TMQ workers to join protests of Shia community all over the country till government measures to root out terrorism. He said that though involvement of foreign hand in terrorism could not be ruled out but there was no question that who was responsible to check terrorism. He said that the US was carrying out drone attacks with the consent of government.
