Qadri terms Fakhar's resignation joke with nation
LAHORE (NNI): Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has termed resignation of Fakhar-ud-Din G Ibrahim as joke with the nation.
Commenting on the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has said that the resignation of Fakhar-ud-Din G. Ibrahim who headed an unconstitutional Election Commission and presided over the rigged elections in the country is not less than a joke with the nation.
He said that Justice Ibrahim had a chance of becoming a national hero by standing against the illegal and unconstitutional actions of political mafias or resigned from his position before the elections, adding that the nation would now remember him as a ‘villain’ who pushed the country in the abyss of corruption and rigging.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that when Articles 62, 63 and 218 were being violated with abandon, the Chief Election Commissioner chose to stay mum on the illegal acts. The role of Fakhar-ud-Din G. Ibrahim would be remembered as that of a person who protected corruption and rigging in the country.
In reply to a question, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Fakhar-ud-Din G Ibrahim was responsible for the multiple crises and mess in the country.
He said that the Chief Election Commissioner gave full protection to an unconstitutionally constituted Election Commission which oversaw massive rigging in the May polls. NNI
