PAT takes out countrywide rallies to express solidarity with armed forces
Countrywide rallies were held under the banner of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to express solidarity with the armed forces on the special instructions of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Hundreds of people attended the PAT rallies everywhere. Motor cycle rally was taken out from Aiwan-e-Iqbal to the Lahore Press Club in which hundreds of people took part. The participants of the rally raised slogan in favor of the armed forces and against terrorists. They were carrying banners and placards on which pro-military slogans were written. The rally was jointly led by PAT Lahore leaders Chaudhry Afzal Gujjar, Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, Irsahd Tahir and Hafiz Ghulam Farid.
Addressing the participants of the rally, Chaudhry Afzal Gujjar said that the armed forces enjoyed complete and unanimous support of the masses in Zarb-e-Azb operation. He said that expressing solidarity with the military was binding on every Pakistani. He said that the armed forces were fighting for the country’s survival and to ensure internal security and restore law and order. He said that the government failed to eliminate terrorism and extremism leaving the military with no option but to launch a decisive operation against terrorists. He said that PAT supported the military lock stock and barrel.
Chaudhry Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, General Secretary PAT Lahore, said in his speech on the occasion that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was ambassador of peace and he was the first person who raised effective voice against terrorism and extremism. He said that in the same way he was the first person who expressed solidarity with the military. He said that there was no place for terrorists in the country.
Expressing his views, PAT leader Irshad Tahir said that every worker of PAT was with the armed forces in their battle against terrorists. He said that keeping in view the circumstances, it was important for every citizen to support the armed forces.
Hafiz Ghulam farid said that the nation was proud of their armed forces and the anti-terrorism operation was the voice of the entire nation. Altaf Randhawa also spoke at the occasion.
